PCA-SAR Art Car World Tour to Douglas, AZ Saturday February 25 and Optional Overnight Stay at The Gadsden Hotel
Registration is now open (http://www.pcasar.motorsportreg.com/) so please come along for the PCA-SAR tour on Saturday February 25 for a taste of The Old West through scenic Southern Arizona and also see the amazing automotive creations at Art Car World in Douglas, AZ. This scenic drive includes a tour of the jail in the ghost town of Gleeson and a visit to Art Car World. Art Car World, owned by Harrod Blank, one of the prime movers and shakers in the counter-culture art car scene, is a museum of art cars. These are the vehicles of artistically inspired people who use them as their canvas and decorate them in very interesting, and sometimes bizarre ways that is always thought-provoking and fun to see. Here’s a rundown of the itinerary:
- The Tucson group will meet in the parking lot at the Triple T Truck Stop located at Craycroft and I-10. From there, it’s about a 1-hour drive to Tombstone via I-10 & Hwy 80 where we’ll meet the more-Southern members of our SAR region from Sierra Vista. We’ll have a pit stop at Allen St. & 6th St where there is a parking lot and public restrooms.
- From Tombstone we’ll take the very scenic route
